GRANTMAKING
Guidlines and Application Process

Please note

In December 2008, Board of Directors of the Women and Girls Foundation initiated a strategic planning process to determine the organization’s strategic directions for 2009-2011. This process involved reviewing past and current Foundation activities to identify organizational, funding and grantmaking priorities for 2009 and beyond. As a result of this planning effort and the unique circumstances brought forth by the economic downturn our country faces, in 2009, WGF plans to research, document and disseminate information related to the impact of the economic downturn on women and girls in our region. Based on these findings, WGF will determine the strategic direction of our advocacy efforts as well as the priorities for our 2009 grantmaking activity. In the fall, we expect to release a Request for Proposals (RFP) that will describe specific issues, guidelines, and strategies for our December 2009 grantmaking cycle.

Once available, we will post the RFP in the grantmaking section of the WGF website and we will also mail it to our community partners and past grantees. If you would like to add your agency to our RFP mailing list, please email Adriana Dobrzycka, Program Officer, at adriana@wgfpa.org

Although we are unable to consider grant applications until fall of 2009, we do have staff and technical capacity which we can provide to support your agency’s advocacy activities, related to the State Budget and the Economic Stimulus Package (including grassroots advocacy support, attendance at legislator meetings, testimony at hearings, etc.), to increase public investments that address women and girls’ needs. If you would like to learn more about ways we can work with your agency to support your advocacy efforts please contact Adriana Dobrzycka, Program Officer at adriana@wgfpa.org or by phone at 412-434-4883. Thank you!
